MODEL / PARENTAL GUIDANCE

TESS Management offers experienced, professional and caring advice on the correct procedures for getting into modelling.

Due to false promises, many young people are being exploited by unscrupulous people posing as bogus model agents. It’s important to do clear research on the agency and contracts, especially for people under 18 years old.

This issue is getting progressively worse as social media grows and more agencies use AI, making it harder to understand which agency is right for you. Girls as young as 15 are spending up to £500 on portfolios of pictures that can’t be used in the industry.

At TESS, we can also advise about the other possible challenges:

1 – RESEARCH

In the past, we have found multiple profiles on Facebook and other social platforms posting as scouts from TESS Management. Unless as part of an officially advertised competition, TESS Management does not use any social media to scout for potential models. All TESS team have an email address in the form of: info@tessmanagement.com, if this is not the case, then they do not work for TESS Management. Once we have met you, we will then connect you by WhatsApp.

2 –  MEETING LOCATION

Before meeting the team or coming into the agency, please upload digitals to our website under ‘Join/ become a model.’  We will get back to you as soon as possible with feedback.

Anyone under the age of 18 always needs to visit with an accompanying parent, guardian or trusted adult. (4th Floor, 9-10 Market Place, London W1W 8AQ)

3 – CONTACT US

We do NOT work with any third parties (whether they are photographers or agents), who may claim to work on our behalf to create portfolios for your benefit, as an introduction to Tess Management. Any test shoots will be organised by our agents and not through yourselves.

4 – DO NOT PAY FEES

We believe the best portfolios are natural shots without makeup which give us the best indicator of your potential. These can easily be done for free by yourself.

You do not need a professional portfolio to be considered by an agency. Be vigilant, especially if they ask you to pay for the shoot and images. Many people have paid hundreds of pounds and have not had a positive experience or outcome.
